Bird Watching

Bird watching is one of the fastest growing branches of tourism.
Stur.ba is an agency that organizes such trips in BiH. It is possible to organize individual as well as group trips to the field, and we also organize field classes for kindergartens, schools and colleges.

281 species of birds have been registered in Livanja polje so far, while the number for the whole of Bosnia and Herzegovina is 351. In Ždralovac, the only colony of great white heron in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the largest population of hornbills in Bosnia and Herzegovina, more than 20 pairs of meadow harriers, the only known pair of white-tailed eagles in Bosnia and Herzegovina, one of eight pairs of white-tailed eagles, the largest European eagle, the largest population of blackbirds in the Balkans, etc. It is estimated that up to 100,000 birds stay in the Livanja field during the spring migration during the wet seasons, which makes this field stand out as the area with the highest concentration of birds in BiH, and every year during the autumn migration, 60,000 to 80,000 cranes fly over the field.
