Jahorina
Jahorina – Mountain of snow,
skiing and Olympic spirit Jahorina is one of the most famous mountains in Bosnia and Herzegovina and part of the Dinaric Mountains. Located in the immediate vicinity of Sarajevo, it is known for its long winters, abundant snow and excellent infrastructure for winter sports. The highest peak, Ogorjelica, reaches 1,916 meters above sea level.
Jahorin has a special place in history thanks to the Winter Olympic Games in 1984, when women's alpine skiing competitions were held here. That Olympic spirit is still present today on every track.
Skiing at Jahorina
Jahorina offers more than 25 kilometers of groomed ski trails, arranged according to difficulty - from gentle blue to demanding black trails. It is ideal for both beginners and experienced skiers. A modern cable car and lifts enable a capacity of more than 10,000 skiers per hour, and the mountain has an average of about 175 snowy days a year, with an average snow depth of more than one meter. A special experience is provided by night skiing on illuminated tracks, while some tracks are certified by the International Ski Federation (FIS) for slalom, giant slalom and downhill.
Jahorina out of winter
When the snow melts, Jahorina turns into a mountain of walks, fresh air and active rest. In summer, it is popular for hiking, cycling, cable car rides, spending time in nature and escaping the city heat. Because of the clean climate and mountain air, it is often chosen as a destination for recovery and recreation.
Gastronomy and entertainment
The mountain offers a rich gastronomic offer - from traditional dishes and local specialties to modern restaurants and bars. Jahorina is also known for its lively atmosphere after a day of skiing, with numerous places to relax, socialize and have fun.
